Job Title: Key Holder
Department: Retail
Reports To: General Manager
Purpose and Scope
- A Key Holder usually has more experience than their colleagues and takes on added responsibilities to help operate the store in a responsible manner. A Key Holder ensures that all of the important duties of opening and closing the store are fulfilled at all times.
- Job Responsibilities
- Supervise the staff in the absence of the Store Manager and Assistant Manager
- Maintain security of the store and understand the operations of the store security system
- During opening: unlock the doors, inspect the property, deactivate the overnight security system and turn on any indoor or outdoor lights
- During closing: activate the security system, and making sure the store is secure and locked with no customers or employees remaining inside
- Responsible for protecting the keys used 24 hours a day
- Entrusted as the emergency contact for local police or a private security firm that monitors the property
- In the event of an alarm activation or suspected security breach, the Key Holder must go to the retail location to deactivate the alarm and make sure that the store is safe, before locking once again
- Assist store management in merchandising the store in accordance with company directed standards
- Comply with all company directed policies and procedures as they relate to the store operations; receiving of merchandise, store opening and closing, cash register transactions, daily cash reconciliation, and inventory control

Education and Training:
- High School Diploma required; Associates degree preferred
Experience:
- 3-5 years retail experience, preferably in men’s luxury apparel
- Strong product knowledge and fashion sense to assist in the presentation of the merchandise in a manner conducive to maximizing sales
