Job Title:     Area Shop Manager Reports to: District Manager

Division:     Retail Development

MAIN JOB OBJECTIVE

The Area Shop Manager position is a customer service focused brand ambassador. The focus is to drive Michael Kors business within multiple assigned department stores* providing an elevated experience to customers and educating and motivating retail partners. The Area Shop Manager will ensure there is overall support and retail partnership for the benefit of the Michael Kors business.

*Michael Kors is not responsible for method or cost of transportation.

GUIDELINES and WEEKLY SCHEDULE

  • Area Shop Managers will have 1 “home door” and 1-3 “area doors”*
  • All area doors must be within 40 miles of the home door
  • 2-4 Days: Selling at home door
  • 1-3 Days: Selling at area doors

*Area doors are subject to change based on business needs

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

OVERVIEW

  • 80% of time will be spent on the selling floor, supporting and engaging with clients
  • 15% of time will be spent training on product knowledge and visual merchandising
  • 5% of time will be spent meeting with retail partner management, supporting events, and office time
  • Area Shop Manager will cover multiple Michael Kors families of business, subject to change based on business need

SALES GENERATION

  • Meet and exceed shop-in-shop sales goals
  • Motivate retail partner staff to meet and exceed sales goals
  • Communicate opportunities; including, but not limited to: strategies to drive sales, stock needs, and product needs
  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge and ownership of each business by creating big picture strategies to drive sales

CUSTOMER SERVICE

  • Provide an elevated experience to all customers
  • Train and develop sales teams to drive business through an elevated experience and client database
  • Promote the Michael Kors brand by encouraging cross selling between shop-in-shops

VISUAL

  • Ensure visual excellence standards are consistently maintained
  • Partner with retail partner to ensure all graphics are current by department

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of 3 year(s) retail management experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Ability to travel within 40 miles of designated home store
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong fashion sense
  • Exhibit proficiency in computer programs used by the company including Apple Software and Microsoft Office
  • Proven ability to increase sales and profitability
